Welcome. I’m Jahneakia Hart Brower, PhD

I’m honored you’re here. My work lives at the intersection of scholarship, compassion, faith, and community care. Whether you arrived seeking guidance, education, support, or simply a place to breathe and reflect, I hope you find something here that reminds you that your story matters.

As a researcher, educator, end-of-life doula, and advocate for sacred conversations around healing and preparedness, I believe that every stage of life deserves dignity, meaning, and care. This space was created to encourage thoughtful dialogue, transformative learning, and compassionate connection.

Thank you for visiting. I invite you to explore, learn, and journey with me.

Let's Talk: Book a Consultation

A real conversation with someone who truly listens.

Life gets heavy. Sometimes you need more than advice from a friend or a search engine. Let's Talk is a private, confidential conversation session designed for individuals who need a safe, supportive space to process what they are carrying without the formality of therapy.

Whether you are grieving a loss, feeling overwhelmed, navigating a difficult relationship, facing an uncertain season, or simply need someone to help you think things through, this session is for you.

Dr. Jahneakia Hart Brower brings over 20 years of experience in behavioral health, trauma, grief, and crisis counseling to every conversation. She will listen without judgment, offer thoughtful perspective, and connect you with resources and referrals tailored to your specific situation and needs.

What to expect:

  • A warm, welcoming, and completely confidential conversation

  • No paperwork, no diagnosis, no clinical jargon

  • Practical next steps and resource referrals when appropriate

  • A space where you are seen, heard, and valued

This is a supportive conversation and referral service, not clinical therapy or counseling.

Financial hardship accommodations available upon request.

Detours & All

Life rarely goes the way we planned.

Some roads are smooth and straight. Others are full of unexpected turns, sudden stops, and moments where the path ahead feels completely unclear. A diagnosis. A loss. A relationship that ended. A career that crumbled. A season that simply did not go the way you imagined.

Detours are not failures. They are simply part of the journey.

What matters is that you do not have to navigate them alone. Whether you are in the middle of a detour you did not choose, trying to find your footing after a major life disruption, or standing at a crossroads unsure of which way to turn, I am here to walk that road with you.

My work is built for the detours. The messy middle. The grief that does not have a timeline. The questions that do not have easy answers. The moments when life asks more of you than you feel equipped to give.

You do not need to have it together to reach out. You just need to be willing to take the next step, whatever that looks like for you.

Every road, even the broken ones, can lead somewhere meaningful. Let's find that path together.
